If you wasn't at the Accelaquarter Racer Appreciation Banquet last night, you missed a great time! Good food and great fellowship with the racing family was had by all.
Jay surprised Frank Sisk by announcing that the control tower at the track will be herefore to be known as "The Frank Sisk Tower", honoring Frank for everything he has done to rebuild Accelaquarter Raceway and provide the racing community a great place to race at.
1st place awards were presented to the following drivers:
Jimmy Terhune, Super Pro; Thomas Zimmerman, Pro; Patrick Seely, Sportsman; Thomas Syers, Street Trophy; Connor Dumanski, Jr. Dragster.
2nd and 3rd place recieved trophies 4th and 5th were awarded plaques.
In addition to the class awards last night, two new annual awards were unveiled and presented. The first new annual award is honoring the late Corky Merritt, long time racer at Accelaquarter, "The Corky Merritt Sportsman of the Year." Jay said after careful consideration, he presented the award to Super Pro driver Jimmy Terhune for his outstanding sportsmanship this past year. The other award was "Racer of the Year" presented to Jr. Dragster driver Conner Dumanski.
